Behind The Cooper House

The Howe Family

The Cooper House was to be a place, a space, a home where the lives of ALL who are involved in foster care are welcomed, loved, seen, heard and chosen.

Brooke and Kyle Howe felt the Lord calling their family of five to foster care at the end of 2016. In July 2017 they were licensed and their first placement was a sibling set, two brothers. Throughout their journey, they developed a relationship with the boys’ birth parents and were able to get a front row look into the other side of foster care. The Lord opened their eyes and broke their hearts for these parents. They began to see that many parents lack a healthy support structure to encourage them in their time of crisis. Without that healthy support system or a relationship with Jesus, there is no eternal hope they can cling to.

January 2018: This is when God gave Brooke & Kyle the initial vision for The Cooper House. It would be a home downtown Noblesville, IN, near the DCS office and the courthouse that would exist to foster hope and give support to parents while they work towards reunification. Over the next two years, the Howes prayed, questioned, and wondered how this vision and home would come to be. During the course of their boys’ case, the Lord revealed even more ways in which The Cooper House would serve and foster hope to Hamilton County and surrounding areas. The Cooper House was to be a place, a space, a home where the lives of all who are involved in foster care are welcomed, loved, seen, heard and chosen. Children. Birth parents. Foster parents. Case workers. Visitation Supervisors. Volunteers.

In June of 2019, Brooke and Kyle adopted their two boys, and then in October of 2019, God started making moves and made it clear that it was time to start bringing this vision of The Cooper House to life.

All of us here at the Cooper House are extremely honored and humbled to foster hope for families by providing support and encouragement in their time of crisis, while helping them discover the love and hope of Jesus Christ.
